FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is the equipment and installation really FREE?

A: Yes! You really do get all of the equipment you need to receive satellite TV in up to four rooms. (Each room can watch different channels at the same time.) Of course, you are also making a one year commitment to pay your monthly programming charges automatically using your credit card. Keep in mind that we will charge your card $49.99 up front. This covers activating your account and your free installation. But the great news is that you'll receive a $49 credit on your first bill from DISH Network! This means you can get up to $1,500 worth of satellite equipment installed in your home without having to buy the equipment! It is also important to note that with some of the DISH NETWORK offers you technically will never own the satellite system. The equipment remains the property of DISH NETWORK and must be returned to them should you ever discontinue service.

Q: What if I don't have a credit card?

A: To sign up for this offer with Dish Network, you are required to use a credit card or debit card which has a MasterCard/Visa Logo. Debit cards from your checking account are acceptable as long as they have a Visa or MasterCard Logo. If you do not have a credit card, you should consider having a roommate or other household member obtain service in their name if they have a credit card.

Q: Why should I buy from iDish Network instead of DISH Network Directly?

A:
We offer the same packages as DISH Network at the same prices. However, we strive to offer the best customer service in the industry. We utilize unique ways that no one else uses to help you get your DISH installed as quickly as possible so that you may enjoy your satellite television as quickly as possible.

Q: I want to see a list of all of the channels!

A:
You can get a list of the channels that are included in any package on our website. Just click on any programming Package that is underlined. Then a window will pop up giving you a detailed listing. In general, anything that is underlined on our website can be clicked on.

Q: I have DIRECTV now, but I want your service. How do I do that?

A:
You would need to purchase a DISH Network system. DISH Network and DirecTV receivers feature a different architecture. DISH Network is one of the most technologically advanced, high-quality satellite TV systems available. Our receivers are fully MPEG-2/DVB compliant, offering you excellent quality in audio and video. After you plug in the new receiver simply replace your dish with the DISH Network DISH 500 on your existing mount and re-aim toward our satellite.

Q: What's included in a Free Installation?

A:

Q: If I live in an apartment or condo can I still get a dish?

A:
In most cases, yes, if you have a balcony. The law requires that your landlord must give you permission. FCC rules permit residents of rental property to install a satellite dish, but only in certain areas. Generally, FCC rules permit renters to install a dish only in areas that are subject to the renter's exclusive use and control. Generally, this means an area that you may use, but that is not available for the general use of all tenants. Such an area may include a balcony, patio, yard, deck or other area that only you have the right to use. If you have such an area, you may install a dish.

Q: Our Homeowners Association forbids satellite dishes.

A:
Our dish antenna size is 20" and complies with the Satellite Consumer Bill of Rights, a regulation released by the FCC on August 6, 1996 . This regulation PREEMPTS area zoning ordinances and Homeowner Association covenants and restrictions on DBS dish antennas. This rule was required by Congress in the 1996 Telecommunications Act. Some HOA'S have been fighting to keep restriction rights by threatening court action on tenants with dish antennas, in some cases arguing that a dish antenna is installed in a common area, calling the air space above the homeowner's roof where the dish antenna is installed, the common area. Congress is on your side in this matter. For more specific information please contact: SBCA (Satellite Broadcasting & Communications Association): (703)549-6990, and at SBCA.com.

Q: How does the installation work, do you install nationwide?

A:
All of our installations are done through the DISH Installation Network, a division of DISH Network. Since their network is nationwide we are able to offer you a professional installation anywhere in the US, including Hawaii, with one exception being Alaska. The DISH Installation Network is comprised of employees and authorized subcontractors that must meet some of the highest installation standards in the industry. This means you get a quality installation with a company you can count on to back up the work they perform. Certified, insured, and a 90 day installation warranty. Why have your installation done through anyone else?

Q: After I make my purchase, how do I activate my programming?

A:
After placing an order you will be provided with a toll free number where you can schedule your free installation and set up your programming selection. The installer will bring the satellite dish and receiver(s) with them; therefore, there is no equipment to ship so installations can be scheduled right away. A customer service representative will help you activate all the programming you would like.

Q: Why does a phone line connect to the receiver?

A:
For most applications the phone line is for on-screen Caller ID, impulse Pay-Per-View and DISH Home Interactive TV. There is also a special consideration in regards to our primary promotion (Digital Home Advantage), where there is no additional outlet fees provided all dual-tuner receivers (DISH 322 or DVR 522) are continuously connected to the customers phone line.

Q: How long is the estimated installation time?

A:
After placing an order you will be provided with a toll free number where you can schedule your free installation and set up your programming selection. The installer will bring the satellite dish and receiver(s) with them; therefore, there is no equipment to ship so installations can be scheduled right away. Installations dates are available 7 days a week, even weekends.

Q: Do I need a cable-ready TV?

A:
No. Dish Network is compatible with every TV ever manufactured! Installation is free on all models of television.

Q: Can I get this installed on my motor home or tractor trailer?

A:
Yes! We do have packages available for your RV or motor home. However, they may be different from the program advertised on this website.

Q: I want to see a list of all of the channels!

A:
You can get a list of the channels that are included in any package on our website. Just click on any of the links underneath the Programming link. In each of the available windows you will see a detailed listing of the available channel packages.

Q: Can I get my local stations?

A:
You must live in a designated market area to receive local channels. Designated market areas are determined by your local networks, not DISH Network. Click on the link for local programming to see if you qualify. If you don't qualify, you can still use a regular aerial antenna to get the local channels.

Q: Do I have to choose my programming right now?

A:
No. If you are not sure of which packages you desire, you can simply choose the basic programming package for now. You'll then have time to consider your options. Just keep in mind that you'll have to decide before the installer comes to your home. We will also mail you full color information which clearly outlines your choices.

Q: Can I substitute one channel for another in my basic package?

A:
Dish Network strives to make satellite programming as affordable as possible. One way to help keep costs lower is to provide stations in packages, rather than mostly a la carte. Allowing customers to substitute channels would have the adverse effect of forcing us to raise prices, both for overall programming, and for a la carte stations. To prevent this, no substitutions are allowed. Dish Network does offer the Outdoor Channel and Bloomberg Television a la carte for under $2.00 per month each.

Q: Adult programming

A:
Dish Network currently offers four different types of adult programming. The packages available on a monthly subscription basis include:

Extasy (channel 496, 110 satellite,$27.99/month)
